The
Best Primary School of the Year:
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
I’ve watched it through the
years and it only gets better. It’s been hit hard a few times with forced
moving and re-adjusting to new areas and new problems but they have always
come up with real solutions and stayed on top of the charts…International
School has my recommendation because I believe in it. It has earned
through application and dedication the honors and the prestige that it
enjoys in our community, our city, our state…
It’s wide open, clear in its
objectives and the students distinguish themselves year after year in
both Spanish and English on all kinds of tests, in all kinds of
competitions. International School has gained its fine reputation based on
a solid, effective working English language program. Students learn
English and speak it as if it were their mother tongue. They study at
levels equivalent to U:S students of the same age, and are inspired and
motivated to learn and read English. They are not primed to pass tests and
look good, they are given a solid, sturdy foundation, they are taught how
to study, how to speak in public, how to get across an idea…they are
taught to think.
They are receiving the
fundamental values that will last a lifetime.
The teachers and directives
are all highly qualified, certified, professional individuals. The English
teachers are native speakers. International students distinguish
themselves because of their mastery of both the English and the Spanish
languages.
Moral values, social skills,
artistic education, sports, an international interest in countries,
histories and people is what sets them apart.
International School is a
tiny United Nations. Children learn to live and comprehend different
accents, different tonalities and voice pitches… they are guided to
understand that as earth brothers we are alike and have that in common,
but on the other hand, we are unique human beings and only one of a kind.
So instead of fighting differences these children are encouraged to enjoy
the cultural patterns, the different ways of preparing food, the favorite
dishes of a certain country and learn to accept and enjoy different
customs and life styles.
International School
promotes young citizens of the world. They are building a very united
world.
There are rules, they’re
strict, unbending… they are taught, learned and obeyed. They are solid,
adhered by all… they don’t change, they are the base/the law/the way of
manner/the underlying philosophy of the education practiced at that
institution.
As a mother, a teacher of
over thirty five years, a former school director, I applaud and admire the
steadfastness to principle that exists at the International School. Right
is right and there is no question about it. Not easy to abide by for some
children not used to discipline and it’s not often in today’s world that
people actually say what they mean and mean what they say… but once
they’re used to it, they love it. Proof of the pudding, very few students
ever leave International until they are graduating from Sixth Grade.
Children from other
countries learn Spanish fast and native children speaking English make the
new boy or girl in Mexico feel right at ease. They make them fit in.
It’s a family outside of home.
Graduation is always a sweet
and sour moment. Great to be moving on, sad to be moving out, happy to
moving up.
I want to felicitate Lic.
Yvonne Leonard and her faithful staff, both administrative and
educational, because once more in 2004, as a result of an excellent
curriculum, her students are placing high on admission tests both in and
out of Mexico. Small groups, individual attention, a group attitude in
the caring and development of the school, complete devotion to betterment
of the individual as well as obtaining good grades, a sturdy matter,
involvement in community projects and of course, a true bilingual program
are all small parts of the whole picture… and it is a… masterpiece.
To one and all…
felicitations for a great school year and happy graduation.
